Another exceptional batch from Finnish micro-roaster Frukt Coffee Roasters comes from the Brazilian farm Araucária in the Minas Gerais region. Producer Gabriel Barreto and his family are building the Casa Almeida Barreto project here, with which Frukt has been working since 2021. According to the roaster, this Mundo Novo variety is the best batch they have received from Gabriel so far.
In the cup, you can expect rich sweetness, velvety texture and surprising complexity. The coffee offers a balanced profile with layers of ripe fruit, a strong aroma and tones reminiscent of high-quality chocolate. Thanks to its clean expression, full body and pleasant sweetness, it is a beautiful example of modern Brazilian fine coffee.
This batch is also the last harvest of the Mundo Novo variety from the Araucária farm. Gabriel Barreto decided to plant this traditional variety on a more suitable plot of land so that he can push its potential even further in the future. However, it is already a coffee that shows why Casa Almeida Barreto is one of the most interesting producers in contemporary Brazil.
