The Finnish lighting manufacturer Innolux was founded in 1993 by Jukka Jokiniemi. At the age of twenty, he lost his sight, yet this inspired him to bring light into the lives of others. He studied architecture and began designing and producing lights. Initially working alone, he later invited other leading designers to join him. Innolux can proudly claim prestigious awards such as the Red Dot Design, Fennia Prize, and even inclusion in the permanent collection of MoMA at the New York Museum of Modern Art. A specialty of Innolux is its therapeutic Bright Therapy lamps, which compensate for daylight and help people cope with the short winter days.
