The Centro pendant lamp has a light and refined shape, designed by the famous Finnish designer Tapio Wirkkala in 1961. The black textile cable creates a striking vertical contrast to the white lampshade with its distinctive grooves. The lamp diffuses light pleasantly into the space and is an example of timeless Finnish minimalism.

TAPIO WIRKKALA
Tapio Wirkkala is one of the most famous names in Finnish design. He spent a large part of his career working for Iittala, for which he also designed the iconic Ultima Thule glass collection. However, his brilliant sense of design has also been put to good use when designing Finnish banknotes. He was the artistic director of the University of Arts and Design in Helsinki for many years and his success is confirmed by many awards, such as 6 gold medals from the Triennale in Milan.
