Brand: Vaidava

Design: Arthur Analts

The ceramic Soil flower pot from the Vaidava manufactory symbolizes the strength and unbridledness of the earth. The uneven, rough edges and matte, unglazed surface reflect the hands of the ceramic master. The flower pot is made of the famous red Latvian clay with an admixture of manganese, which together give the brown shade of fertile soil and harmonize beautifully with the planted plant. A beautiful piece that will bring a refined dose of raw design to the space.

The pot is the perfect size for medium-sized plants and fits well on a well-lit shelf or table. The clay pot breathes in harmony with the plant's roots, providing them with oxygen, which is important for the development of a healthy root system. The porous material of the pot also allows excess moisture from the soil to evaporate easily.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND MAINTENANCE
The flower pot is suitable for planting indoor plants and herbs that match the size of their root system. Before planting, we recommend soaking the flower pot in a water bath for at least 2 hours so that the clay absorbs the necessary amount of moisture and does not take it from the newly planted plant after the first watering. The bottom of the flower pot is equipped with a hole for the drainage of excess moisture. The unglazed surface inside the flower pot may change color over time in the process of interaction between soil, plants and clay and carry white salt residues. The flower pot can be placed both indoors and on an outdoor terrace or balcony, as long as the air temperature does not drop below +1°C.

ARTHUR ANALTS
Arthur Analts is a Latvian designer based in London. His approach is based on careful research, experimenting with innovative materials, new technologies and alternative production techniques. However, Analts' methodology is always consistent - the theme of each work determines the form and material, and the result is always emotionally charged. In 2018, he won the Gold Medal at the London Design Biennale.
