The high-quality Venla napkin by Finnish designer Elina Helenius draws inspiration from traditional crafts, history and stories. The structure of the pattern is reminiscent of the coarser fabrics worn by rural artisans. The goal was to create an honest and grounded pattern that does not look old-fashioned.
The Venla napkin is woven from 100% linen and uses so-called mottled yarn - a combination of two colors that creates a soft, vibrant color impression. A striking detail is a decorative stripe made of coarser yarn, which gives the fabric depth and hand-woven character.
The napkin is ideal for everyday dining and special occasions. Ironed, it looks sleek and elegant, but if you leave the linen naturally wrinkled, it doesn't matter at all. This way you achieve a traditional village touch that has its own charm.
