The illustrations were created by Finnish artist Teemu Järvi for the Giants of the Ice Age exhibition at the Finnish Science Centre in Vantaa. Järvi has depicted all the large mammals of the Ice Age, from mammoths to cave lions, and has also added suggestive depictions of people from that time, which are surprising at the same time. His drawings combine typical artistic expression with scientific precision.

TEEMU JÄRVI
Teemu Järvi is a Finnish artist who has chosen the wild Nordic nature as his main inspiration. He spends most of the year in the Finnish forests to best capture the life and movement of the subjects of his paintings. He works with traditional drawing methods such as reed painting and Chinese ink. At first glance, simple paintings are full of carefully thought-out strokes upon closer examination.
